The Scranton Long Lines Center was opened sometime before 1970 to provide the city of Scranton with telephone service. According to an employee of this facility, it once served as the “command center” for AT&T operations within the city, and was linked to the Long Lines network via the [[ Scranton Long Lines Tower ]] on nearby West Mountain.
Sometime between 1999 and 2005, the building received a large triangular addition. This coincides with the abandonment of the [[ Scranton Long Lines Tower ]].
